Hello! First of all, I truly apologize for being inactive.
School was really pressuring, you see. Now that it’s Summer, I promise to make
up on that!
The place was surely filled with hyper bookworms, all excited to see their favorite authors, and to have their books signed.
The registration started at 10 a.m., and I made sure to be
there at 10 sharp. Upon arriving at the said mall, I thought I was early, but I
was wrong! More than 500 people already arrived before me, and I was surely
shocked. For an hour, I waited in line just to have my books registered!
At 2:30 in the afternoon, the authors showed up, and my, the
noise was deafening! The fans screamed and squealed, hoping that their idol
would notice them. And of course, I was one of them. We waved our books like
madmen to show our support to the geniuses that stood a few meters away from
us. The emcee interviewed the trio, and the authors answered the questions
giddily. One of the highlights of the event would be the Ransereh kiss! Ha-ha. You could just imagine how the crowd went
wild when it happened! Another highlight would be the fans who were summoned to
the stage because it was said that they have been waiting for the event since
1:54 a.m.! The authors hugged those girls, and of course, they were the ones
who were called first. I was envious.
At almost 4 in the afternoon, the book signing started. I was the 640th in line and I waited for three more hours. But well, the waiting was worth it! Not only did I have my book signed, but I also met two fangirls and actually made friends!
When it was my turn, I was star-struck and I couldn’t form any words! My, Tahereh laughed at me!
I handed her a letter I wrote and asked for a hug, and
before I left, she said, “It was so nice to meet you!”
Believe me, I was close to tears.
That day was so overwhelming. I mean, meeting your favorite author, creator of your favorite characters, is a really great experience. It was fantastic! To be honest, I cannot find an adjective that is capable of describing what I felt that day! That day was surely memorable, and I am really thankful that God made that day possible. Also, I really want to thank my parents and my little sister who endured the 9 hours of waiting with me.
Before I end I just want to share a quote from one of my
favorite authors.
“Books are easily
destroyed. But words will live
as long as people can remember them.” –
Tahereh Mafi, Unravel Me
